Most of the essential brain development takes place in the first two years of a child’s life. The children begin to learn how to walk, communicate, and show emotions. All these learned behaviors stem from the interaction they have with people. If the child would be talked to everyday and be active with many adults the child should develop these traits quicker. On the other hand, if a child would be put into a dark room once the child was born and not in daily contact with other people the child then wouldn’t have the proper brain development. The brain develops regardless if they are learning these basic functions, but the child will not have learned the normal behavior of a child his or her age. Once the child begins to reach older ages the brain develops rapidly. The little emotions that were present now become more complex. The capability of gradually walking can become running. Communication is now more understandable because the child has learned more terms and can speak clearly. All of these functions that an adult does on a daily basis stem from when they were a child. The steps to make a person adapt to their surroundings begin with the way they adapt to their childhood. If a child is not corrected with the way they handle negative emotions such as jealousy and anger then the child grows up and believes that these burst of wrath are ok. People can alter they way their brain develops. Humans learn through interaction and observation of others. An example of this is friends who act the same way. Even though they where not raised together friends observe each others behaviors and unknowingly act similar to each other. That example is also true with children. They act like their parents and other family members because that is what they have interacted with. Even though the brain continues to develop of time it is stemed from the basic knowledge that one learns at the younger ages.
