The More Money we come Across…The More Problems we See

Media networks today have changed dramatically over the years. Today, the content and purpose of what is produced has become absurd, unregulated, and addictive. The persons behind the media have become deceptive and have realized what it truly is the general public want, and will do whatever that takes to give it to them. Unfortunately, most of what the general public want is inappropriate and should not be seen by the majority of eyes that come across them. Advertisements, broadcasts, television shows, magazines and newspapers are learning the secrets to creating the most profit. To give the general public what it is they want to see whether it is appropriate, regulated, or supervised is the key to generating as much money as possible. From this, it is among the wealthy that are able to succeed in producing what they want available to the eyes and ears of everyone else. Children are the future generations and if what they are taking in, in any form, is disturbing or inappropriate, they have the tendency to take that with them in their future years. From this and the needs for money to produce the appropriate media forms, capitalism is becoming a threat to children, democracy, and future generations.
It has become apparent in today’s world that all forms of media are produced by the rich to be intended to show only what it is they themselves want to see and hear. According to all three authors, McChesney, Barber, and Montgomery, money is the key to being on top, hence the democracy in which we ourselves live. With this being said, the rich have the power to have what they want produced, aired, and pictured in all forms of media. According to McChesney, the world revolves around advertisements because “advertising sells the idea that purchasing a product or service can solve a problem, sometimes one only loosely related to the actual product. Advertising amounts to propaganda”...
