Once upon a time in a far away land there lived the most beautiful young girl named Ariel, who had the voice of an angel. Ariel lived in a little village in Somalia next to the sea in Africa.

Everyday Ariel had to travel near and far just to feed her little brothers and sisters, as her mother died ten years ago when she was only six years old. On her way home from the farm Ariel took a path that led her to the sea. She lay there gazing serenely out at the ocean where the water was as blue as the prettiest cornflower, and as clear as crystal. There, Ariel made the wish that some day she would leave her country and live in the place that she had always dreamed of… America.

A zoologist set up a camp only about 3km away from Ariel’s village. He had been recently studying animals all around the world and Africa was the last place he was studying before he had to go back to his home, America. When he was in the oasis one day, he heard the most beautiful voice he had ever perceived. He was so fascinated by this voice that he had to meet the person who possessed it!

He followed the voice until he came to a dead end. The only thing he could see around him were bushes. But the voice was still there. He looked around until he found an old derelict path hidden behind some bitou, a native South African bush. He was following the path when he suddenly heard the sound of the waves crashing against the rocky shore of the beach. Around the corner there the voice was and the woman who possessed it, lying on the sand placidly watching the waves.

“Hello” he said.
She cringed, and then all the serenity seemed to disappear into the waves. She looked up at this tall handsome man and for some strange reason the tranquility came back into her life.
“Sorry if I frightened you but your voice is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard in my life.” He said with ardor....
