Risking It All
In the story, “Risking It All”, it begins by saying how the storm began. Began by saying that it began with rain, then the wind gusted to 80 miles an hour, by late afternoon on September 25,2000, the buzzard was in full force. It was the worst storm in New Zealand’s Kaimanawa Ranges in years. Then the writer has never been a blizzard, as they trying to make their way up the mountain they spotted footprints in the snow. And two people were ahead of them, they finally spotted it was a 42-year-old man named John Painting and his 13-year-old son Matthew had collapsed on the trail. Then as morning dawned, a second rescue team set out. The blizzard was still raging, but at 10 am this team reached the hikers. They set up tents, they gave hot food and dry clothes to Pickering and the paintings, 24 hours for the rescue helicopters to make it in. but at least, on September 27, everyone was flown to safety.




A Close Call
In the story,”A Close Call”, it sprats by saying,” it was supposed to be a night of fun.” They say it stated as a fun night 12 teens steamed into the Wedgewood Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 15, 1999. A 17-year-old ,Mary Beth tally came ,so did her friend 18-year-old heather MacDonald, in all, more than 125 people showed up for this youth rally in front worth Texas. Then out of nowhere someone yelled, “There’s a man shooting outside.” The people at the rally, this didn’t seem possible. Many of them thought it was an act. The program said a skit would be performed later in the evening. People figured this was the act but little did they know it wasn’t. Then after they found out it wasn’t a skit they all got down. Then Mary Beth Talley survived her gunshot wound. When asked about what she had done, she shrugged it off. “I just did what needed to be done,” she said.
“I was taught to put others first.” Then another person says her opinion.
