It all began, and I blame myself, not so very long ago. I only wanted the best for my husband, I wanted for him to be king of Scotland, and of course for me to be his Queen. Perhaps its not really my fault! Perhaps I should blame the witches who tricked my beloved with their false prophecies! I admit I am an ambitious wife.

After my husband Macbeth of Scotland told me of his opportunity to become king, “I knew that his temperament was too full o’ the milk of human kindness” (Act 1 scene 5) for the necessary evil to kill the current monarch Duncan king of Scotland. So I turned to evil forces to turn me to man and fill me with “direst cruelty” and so I was able to manipulate him with clever arguments to commit the assassination.

I was forced to arrange to frame Duncan's sleeping servants for the murder by planting bloody daggers on them. I realized that my husband was dazed after the deed and brought the daggers with him after the murder. I was forced to put them back. It was the least I could do since I must admit that I could not have done it myself since the king reminded me of my own father. Early the next morning I heard Macduff ask Macbeth why he had just killed King Duncan's grooms, I fainted. It seemed that a faint is a good tactic to keep anyone from asking any more questions!

After the murder of Duncan our marriage had changed. My husband does not always fill me in on his actions, previously it was I who made all the plans but still I need to cover up for him and look out for his best interests. After Macbeth murdered his best friend...
