The sources and effects of stress that workers face at work areas and jobsites, and how these stresses can manifest themselves in worker attitudes and behavior. There are many sources of stress that workers face at work and jobsites. One of the main stressors is lack of training. When a worker does not have enough training to get their job done insufficient time and have it done well, it is a huge stressor for them to either give up or become worried about their job security at all times. This will manifest into them not wanting to come to work and they will show up late, want to leave early, and have several bogus call-ins. This could all be taken care of by the right kind of training per job title. The workers and the company would benefit from training and maybe some virtual training also. That way they can have scenarios to deal with. This will make them feel better prepared for their real life job at hand and reduce the stress of the job. Another job stressor would be ergonomics. If the job that one is using equipment and tools that do not fit the worker, then the worker will feel stressed out and their body will also feel stressed. They will complain about how tired and how bad their body hurts. This may even progress into an injury or worse, a workman’s comp claim. No one likes to deal with workman’s comp! So it would be best if the owner of the company made sure every worker has the right fit for their job, no matter where they are. If it is a desk, they should have ergonomically correct equipment and supplies for the workers available at all times. The world is more aware of these kinds of injuries now and we must comply with allowing a worker to have the safest job area available.
