The writing process requires a few basic steps that will help to construct a meaningful paragraph. A good paragraph requires a reader to enjoy and gain information on the topic at hand; and the evidence to support that statement. Prewriting helps you to discover this topic, support your statement and ultimately help to construct an informative paragraph. There are various ways to get this information by freewriting, questioning, making a list, clustering or a scratch outline. Prewriting is a process of getting all the ideas of a single topic down on paper, without thinking so much on it. Anyone would enjoy just simply writing all the words that would come in their mind. But these few steps will help you to collect the information that’s important in various ways, depending on the individual. Once the information has been listed down, or outlined, we will start our first draft of the paragraph. This is basically writing out the paragraph with the information collected in prewriting, and even inputting additional thoughts. Once the first draft is written we take it to the next stage, which is revision. Revision actually means to rewrite a paragraph, to build upon what has already been done; so that the paragraph will be able to support the topic much stronger. Sometime it is better to do revision by setting it aside for some time.   Revision process will outlook on the content of the paragraph, the sentence structure and organization of the sentences.   This may require you to write additional drafts with corrections on them. This way one can look at the work, read it through and cut down on the unnecessary parts and even add more information points. Editing is the next process which is further checking of the paragraph for spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes.   It is more of a proof reading giving you ample time to see and edit any additional points of the paragraph.
