Evolution of Formal Organizations Paper Formal organizations have changed over time with the implementation specific roles within the organization, bureaucratic and conventional structure, and the involvement of the formal organizations in the work world. As the time continues to pass, formal organizations will also continue to evolve in a positive manner by enhancing their structure through the organization. There are many things that have plagued the formal organizations but the one that sticks out like a sore thumb would be the economy and the difference in the work naturally. There are two types of work that has changed and they are the following: industrial and post-industrial. Industrial or manufacturing deals with “hard work” or something the world likes to call “manual labor.” Hard work or manual labor is exactly what it sounds like; this is strenuous work that is done through the act of blood, sweat, and tears. The other is post-industrial, which is the opposite of industrial; meaning that the work load is mainly done through machinery in distribution centers, warehouses, or factories; in the technical world the work load is done through computers and other types of technologies. Although there is a transformation is a slow but steady one that the world is facing, there are still obstacles that must be conquered. The implementation of the structure through the organization has assisted in the effectiveness but the formal organization still struggles to keep up with the “Jetsons,” meaning that there are problems with its imaginative side when it comes to change and being competitive. The only way that a formal organization can evolve with the change is to ingest the changing process and become more open minded; broadening their horizons and last but not least; improvise, overcome, and adapt.
