“This is It” by Michael Jackson

The album that I chose was Michael Jackson’s “This is it” album. When listening to the album there is something unique and authentic about his singing and his performances. Michael Jackson has definitely been one of a kind from the time he started his career at the age of 5 and ended his career when he died at the age of 50. The reason that I wanted to write about this album is because I like Michael Jackson’s music and have listened to him since I was a child. Michael Jackson is a musician that so many other musicians look up to for the style of music he sings as well as his dance moves. Michael Jackson has a style of his own. This is what attracted me to write about this album.
This album was made after he died, however, he planned to do a 50 concert show with all of the songs in it. The album has songs on it the were unreleased by Michael Jackson. The movie that was made was his performances that he was practicing for the show. It is a documentary about him and leading up to what would have been his concerts. Michael Jackson wrote about 95 percent of his own songs. You don’t find many artists that hand write their own songs. There is meaning and thought behind all of his songs and if you read the lyrics to his songs he tells a story. This to me shows authenticity in an artist. Michael Jackson sung different from other artists, danced differently and dressed differently.

video that stated, “Due to my personal strong convictions, I wish to stress that this film in no way endorses my belief on the occult.” The song is about a teenage boy asking a girl to date him.
