Obama: The New Way of Life
“I am asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring about new change in Washington…I am asking you to believe in yours,” a quote by Barak Obama said in 2006 after a big debate over religion and politics. So does that quote really have anything to do with politics or anything with religion? Well, Barack Obama does have some flaws, but who doesn’t. Yet he has even more potential to grow and work with the American life than to completely change it. Obama is giving everyone an ability to work with one another to try to refine our everyday lives into something bigger, better, and influential.
As a representative of the Obama campaign, my duties are too insure every one of his accomplishments. However, I’m willing to inform everyone of what Mr. Obama is willing to do even if he doesn’t become the President of the U.S. One of our biggest gaps right now is in religion and politics. On June 30th of 2006, Obama gave a speech on faith. E.J. Dionne of the Washington Post quotes, “Obama’s speech on faith may be the most important pronouncement by a Democrat on faith and politics since John F. Kennedy’s Houston speech in 1960 declaring his independence from the Vatican…Obama offers the first faith testimony I have heard from any politician that speaks honestly about the uncertainties of belief.” Barack believes there most be a stronger role in the religious, conservative group. You must translate your concerns into universal, rather than religion specific, values during any public debates. Barack Obama is not running for the minister of the US. He believes in a pluralistic society and we cannot impose religious views on another. There are many liberals who disagree on his point of view. As conservative Republicans, you must speak your mind and help set policies that will guide this campaign and change the country.
