No books should ever be banned because for each book that is banned, there possibly could be one life lesson that will not be learned by the next generation. Censorship of books in schools and libraries is wrong for it limits what students can potentially learn. Books such as To Kill a Mocking Bird, Of Mice and Men, and others teach valuable life lessons, which is why they are considered classics. Books such as these are being banned for they have questionable material. In the same book introduction as the opening quote, Judy Blume wrote, “Those who were most active in trying to ban books cam from the ‘religious right’ but the impulse to censor spread like a contagious disease.
No cheating will be tolerated! Don’t talk to any other student, don’t look at any other exam, don’t leave any book or notes open around you, and don’t use cell phones or MP3 players. Any suspicious activity will result in receiving a ZERO on the exam! v. You MUST write your answer in the indicated space in order to get credit. vi.
* Choose your friends wisely don’t try to succeed hanging around failures. * Do ALL class assignments. * Remember this is HIGH school not ELEMENTRY school. * Have fun only at Appropriate times. * Always think for your self don’t let anyone make decisions for you.
And none of you will be working in supermarkets as I heard some of planning the other day. Your lives are set out for you” (81). She wants her students to know the truth and she seems to want to stop them from having dreams for the future because she knows they won’t come true. However, even after she said that it didn’t really seem to affect any of the students and their talk of the future. Kathy had said that “there was surprisingly little discussion about what she’d said” (82).
For example, one should not use "swag" as a response to an Algebra teacher's mathematical problem. For one, "swag" is not even a number. Furthermore, the person who uses it in that manner distinguishes himself or herself as one of the more dull-witted people in the class. One should not utilize "swag" even in the classic context into which it is often fitted, which is the justification of one's attire and social presentation. One should not defend the wearing of blue clown-sized shoes, polka dotted shirt, neon green jeans, and a Charlotte Bobcats snapback by saying "I dressed like this because I felt like turnin' on my swag today."
For there is no uniform academic definition for classroom disruptions yet, it might be assumed as any conduct that seriously interferes with the ability of the teacher to teach or the student’s ability to learn. But who decides if a student’s behavior can be regarded as disturbing? Some teachers may consider a student as disturbing while others wouldn’t even notice. Sleeping in class, inappropriate use of electronic devices or cell phones, entering class late or leaving early (without permission), making loud or distracting noises, disputing authority and arguing with faculty are examples of obvious disruptive behavior. The intensity of such classroom disruptions depends on the teacher’s reaction to them, though dealing with those disturbances may not be as important as the teacher’s accurate classroom management as an essential preventive measure.
Now the whole school is on lockdown, and no students are doing anything until they find the jewelry. By the time they the thief, the school day is over, and it’s time to go home. No on has learned anything in school today. If there would had been dress codes is that school, this drama would have never taken place and everyone would’ve learned something and challenged their minds. Like my professor says “ A mind is a terrible thing to waste.” I agree that dress codes will not make public schools perfect, but i can guarantee that it will make a big difference.
III. I bet many of you would say, “Oh, I hate this noisy guy and we should sent him to a night club or other places.” Preview Statement: It seems that none of us would welcome a noisy guy in the dorm room. Therefore, if we want to be a good roommate, we should learn to be quiet in the dorm room. Transition: Today I will show you why you should not make any noise in the dorm room when it is bedtime. I.
However, this does not mean that students should be encouraged to work very hard at night and then just take it easy in class the next day. College students should understand by now that they need to manage their time wisely. That means that they should not put off essay-writing until the night before the due date. They should not cram a study session the night before the test. Some students have especially terrible reasons for falling asleep in class.
Suspension and expulsion is not an effective tool and solution in our schools because it can lead to dropout rates and other violent crimes in the future. If a student commits a crime and the crime is not considered to be threatening, it is most likely that the principal or teacher may suspend that student. To the student suspension is a good thing for them since they have to just stay at home and do nothing. When students get expelled or suspended so many times, it seems normal to them, so they would not feel the consequences of the discipline and the purpose of it. Dropout rates and other violent crimes may contribute from continuous suspension and expulsion.
