Introduction
Individual behavior is often determined by the atmosphere and surroundings in which an employee is employed. The atmosphere and surroundings in which an individual is exposed to upon a daily or weekly basis produces a long lasting effect on an individual’s personality traits and serves to determine partially the behavior patterns of the individual. The following paper, will examine how certain elements such as the following, ethical responsibility, diversity, beliefs and values, perceptions, demographic issues, responsibility of leadership to communicate effectively, communication barriers, effective and efficient communication, nonverbal communication, of communication impact behavior. The above mentioned elements all serve to determine each individual’s behavior style and individual behavior patterns, and determine the nature and scope of work, and in some cases how successful a individual will be in a certain field or environment based on how effectively or ineffectively the individual responds to the above listed elements of behavior and communication.
Compare and Contrast of Elements That Determine Individual Behavior
Understanding individual behavior is very complex. In addition often groups of individuals are compiled together, each with different viewpoints and opinions which further adds to the complexity of understanding this behavior. Several elements which are in place help to determine individual behavior. Elements such as the following, work stress, job satisfaction, decision making, and communications are all similar in respect to how they affect organizational behavior and individual behavior. (Hall, 2007) If individuals are satisfied with their current jobs and situation, work stress will be minimized, and when proper communication is in place, the decision making process becomes less difficult and more precise.
