My Educational Goals

I would like to start off by saying over the holiday I proposed to my girlfriend and
thankfully she accepted my proposal. We have not set a date yet, but soon will that’s a guarantee. You are probably asking yourself why is he talking about his personally life, but that is not it at all. She is the one person who motivates me all the time. She actually is why I am taking this class. I had around fifty college credits before starting this class and she convinced me to put them to good use and continue my college education and then finally get the degree I have always wanted.

My short-term goals are to get another seventy credits (around 23 classes) to graduate and get my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with my minor being in CIS (Computer Information Systems). By getting this degree I can then focus on my long-term goals. By getting married within the next year, I will have all the support I need to finally finish my degree and also with the marriage I will complete one of my long-term goals.

I do have support from others like my parents and my sisters. My mother is the only one out of family that actually has her degree. My father and my sisters went to college, but never actually finished. This is another one of my goals. I want to be the second person in my family who has a college education, a degree. This would be quite an accomplishment since I have a father, a sister, and four step-sisters that don’t have a degree, but I will.
My long-term goals are to use my degree to further better myself and my future family. When I finally get this degree, I will be married and maybe have a child on the way and this degree can do nothing but good for my family. These are just a summary of all my goals short-term and long-term. I have others like having children, buying a new car, and also buying my first house. But, what I mentioned above is what I am concerned...
