A couple more over there, but not many. It's a really relaxed vibe at this weekend festival in the northern California coastal hills. Officially a no-alcohol venue, the vast majority here are blissed out on pot and redwoods, friendships and frisbees, marathon dancing to the electronic music, and a killer, thrumming speaker system that is shaking the ground under me. And here I sit, amidst the peaceful play of a young generation, reading a tense story directly related to what was the scariest aspect of my childhood -- the threat of nuclear war, and those air raid drills where you'd duck and cover under your school desk as if that would mitigate the effects of a nuclear bomb
This was often an all-day adventure. His mother punched him in the face causing him to have a bloody nose because he forgot what he was looking for. He would never find any of the items she sent him to look for. Dave knew he was safe if his father was at home until both of his parent's started drinking together for hours, often until everyone was in
Gault’s mom came home that day from work and could not find her son anywhere. She then sent Gault’s oldest brother out to look for him. With no luck, they went to Gault’s friend Lewis’ house where they found out the dreadful news. The Lewis family also told them that they had a hearing in the Juvenile Court the following day. (Gerald punishment) The Supreme Court made their decision.
My heart had sunk to the deepest part of the world. I felt as if he had left me in the world alone. His funeral was on a Friday that he was supposed to pick my sister and I up for McDonalds. My sister refused to go because she did not believe my mom. But I missed school to watch my best friend be laid to rest.
The small town of Maycomb County has never been the same, since i got into some trouble when I stabbed my father in the leg with some scissors because we got into an argument! So now I stay in my house all day, every day. No one would talk to me anyways even if I did so it is just easier for everyone this way! The weather was unusually warm for the last day of October. The wind was growing stronger.
He is 46 years old but still loves playing soccer. He says he usually doesn’t have time to play on the weekdays but he tries his hardest to play all weekend long. He likes to play with other people on his county’s soccer team. He says that he’s one of the best. The second person I interviewed was a friend of mine; he’s Cuban and he looooves to play baseball.
This dangerous decision would not be the only one we made that day. This near suicide idea came to us on a quiet, weekend while Alex, my brother and Joey’s best friend, was at work. The three of us were a close trio, always hanging out and riding together. On that day though, Joey and I had been left with nothing to do during the afternoon. We rode on our casual routes throughout our neighborhood and the surrounding ones, eventually coming to a rest at our neighborhood pool.
Nicolas Arreola Ms. Uwanawich English 2H Period 6 4 September 2012 The Dropout It was Sunday morning and summer had just begun, my parents decided to make a trip to Ranging Waters that day. The temperature was rising to its peek and I had never wanted to feel the cold wet water splash in my face so badly like today. It was around 9a.m when we left the house and headed to Ranging Waters. The trip was almost an hour but didn’t seem like an hour more like half. Well, once we had arrived there was literally no parking what’s so ever, but we were lucky enough to find a perfect parking and not walk that far.
"It was very icy under my car. That's why my car is still there." Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut closed roads to all but essential traffic. Some of the worst of the storm appeared to hit Connecticut, where even emergency responders found themselves stuck on highways all night. In the shoreline community of Fairfield, police and firefighters could not come in to work, so the overnight shift was staying on duty, said First Selectman Michael Tetreau.
The night before I could not sleep at all. I kept my brothers up all night asking them what they thought Tigers Stadium would be like. The car ride felt like an eternity. Finally, we got there at about eleven in the morning. My dad decided to park extremely far away from the stadium so we did not have to pay to park.
