We Can Be Heroes (2005) is an Australian mockumentary written and created by Chris Lilley. Chris Lilley cleverly portrays five humorous characters; Ja知ie King, Pat Mullins, Nathan and Daniel Sims, Ricky Wong and Phil Olivetti. The series follows these five hopeful nominees for Australian of the Year over a number of weeks, documenting their everyday lives. It is a light heated mocking view on the Australian of the Year process and has come to be a much loved show all over the world.

Ja知ie King is a sixteen year old girl who lives on the North Shore of Sydney. She was nominated for Australian Of The Year for her charitable manner and her record holding sponsorships of eighty-five Sudanese children through Global Vision. Ja知ie claims to have been a finalist in Dolly Covergirl Of The Year and also says she is the smartest non-Asian in her school.

Ja知ie likes to look hot and be the centre of conversation. With her perfectly styled hair, pursed lips wide eyed look she is a very looks orientated girl who is always checking herself out. On many occasions Ja知ie makes her posse say how beautiful and hot she is and then dishing for more compliments, gets them to say more.

Ja知ie attends Hillford Grammar School, and expensive all girls private school with beautiful buildings, up to date technology and perfect green lawns. She is constantly giving presentations about how good she is for sponsoring 85 children. She also uses her presentations to make her school peers and teachers feel guilty for spending their money on things other then the children. At one presentation she uses her principal, who was about to embark on a ski trip costing thousands of dollars, as example of how she could have saved thousands of suffering children from death.

Each week Ja知ie does 40...
