Proposal (Funding Road Improvement) As with any larger city, the San Antonio roads are right up there with a lot of major traffic cities. As this area has a large number of vehicle owners, the population is constantly influenced by the media to include day to day transportation. With the large amounts of people in San Antonio area, traffic is always an issue. As a result, altering a few things here and there can be a life-changing experience during the traffic hour. When you are driving from point A to point B in San Antonio you are bound to run in to some really poorly constructed roads. There are pot holes on every road and to fix them they are just patched up and very really are the roads completely fixed. The reason I have selected this topic of bad roads in and around San Antonio is because I drive an Xterra and my vehicle is very top heavy. I have run in to some pothole when making turns and I feel that my vehicle is going to flip because of the potholes that I hit. The issue of bad roads in Bexar County needs to be addressed. We can increase the speeding tickets, the inspection fees, and instead of a onetime tax fee on autos pay a yearly fee. In this essay I will address that the bad roads in Bexar County need to be repaired of the potholes. The way a pothole is formed is water from melting snow and ice seeps into the pavement and softens it. During repeated cold spells, the water in the pavement refreezes and expands, breaking up the pavement, on and below the surface. When the ice melts, it leaves gaps inside the pavement, and the moisture further softens it. The soft, fractured asphalt cannot support the weight of passing vehicles, and begins to break up. As vehicles continue to pass over the weakened spot, pieces of roadway are kicked out, creating the hole in the highway (“How Pothole Form”). The cost of filling
