Fear vs. Respect
Fear: a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid. Respect: esteem for or a sense of the worth or excellence of a person, a personal quality or ability, or something considered as a manifestation of a personal quality or ability. Fear or respect, which would you rather be. Being feared will make your peers and family treat you with the respect you want, but it will be a negative because they are only respect you because they are afraid of you. Being respected will cause people to look up to you, they will look at you as a role model and a great person.
Fear and respect have many similarities, for example, if you wanted to be respected, you might frighten people to get it. You will make that person fear you so much, that they will have no choice but to give you what you want, respect. Another example would be if you wanted an idea for a company. If you were feared by all your employees, you are most likely not going to get any ideas because your employees are too afraid of speaking their thoughts and ideas even thought they respect you. One more example would be if you ask someone for a favor, they will try to do it as good and as soon as possible because they are feared by what could happen if they didn’t do the favor, so they have to respect you even if they don’t want to do the favor you asked for.
There are many differences between fear and respect. If you wanted someone to give you the respect you want, you don’t have to use fear to get it. If you get the respect you wanted, you will know because that person will be more creative and speak open minded about their ideas and thoughts. On the other hand, a negative example of this would be that no one would give you any ideas because they are feared by you, feared that you might reject their ideas and thoughts, fear that you might humiliate them, and fear of...
