PROJECTISED EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS – PRESENTATION
FOR TEACHERS

Introduction.

1. The present day-schools in India have been sparing no stones unturned in completion of prescribed syllabus for respective classes. This also includes co-curricular and group activities such as sports, PT, music, dramatics, etc. However, in the bargain, individual attention to each student’s area of interest is kept at stake.

2. The recently introduced concept-schools have taken care to pay utmost attention to individual students with regard to academics. But again, the overall-development of the child is not taken care of, since the equally most important aspect of co-curricular activities finds no place in their curriculum.

3. Children (or the parents) are therefore left with no option than to choose between the above two options.

4. There are innumerable individual fields wherein a person can excel. However, academic giants like Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, business giants like Narayana Murthy and Anil Ambani, theatre giants like Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan and sporting giants such as Sachin Tendulkar and Sania Mirza can only be counted upon finger-tips in this vast country. Institutions in India have so far been unable to tap individual talents of children at a very young age and vertically specialize them in those respective fields.

Concept.

5. This presentation is NOT intended to propose dramatic changes in the existing school curriculum. The intention is only to introduce Projectised education as a food for thought, and to propose a very modest start, in any ONE of the various fields of excellence that exist in India. In order to understand this concept, a basic introduction to Projects and the management of the same is considered necessary.
