The telecommunications industry is experiencing rapid growth on a global scale. This is an effect of the technological advancement and development and in turn it has facilitated the application of new technologies. It has also helped in increasing economic activities. In line with this area, one of the greatest growth areas of recent years has been the development of mobile or wireless telecommunications.
Mobile phones have been evolving rapidly. It has been the world’s most popular and pervasive mobile electronic product (Derene, 2006). It has been a necessity since the evolution of the technology in the late 1990s. Mobile phone subscribers are seen increasing to at least 32 made everyone connected though they are far apart. As a result, more and more of us, people are now capable of performing multiple jobs and staying connected with our friends, business partners, and families.
Based on the 2005 survey, the Philippines had become the “texting capital” of the world. The survey stated that the Philippines had more than 1 million text and multimedia messages sent per day. This just goes to prove that texting is no longer just a tool for business but a necessity in our everyday life.
Mobile phones, just like us human, are ever-changing, which makes every gadget more exciting to have and to own. It is because when a person stops learning, he stops living or so they say. The same also goes for the stiff competition that our mobile phones are facing at the moment. That is precisely why, whenever a new model is introduced, a more improved version is launched in the market.
