TTF’s debut full-length CD “In Pursuit of Tommorow” release marks one of the first for an alternative band on Cordless Recordings. The five members of TTF bring together catchy riffs, melodic vocals, crystal-clear production quality, and original variety of styles in their debut to have a sound that is similar to Breaking Benjamin mixed with Black Tide. Although this album isn’t excellent, potential has been reached and talent comes full swing.
TTF varies their range of styles in their tracks, from mildly laid-back guitar licks to fast-paced metal riffs being thrown all over the place. Each track attempts to follow a different sound and although the range isn’t large, it is positively noted. The vocals are mostly clean-melodic, but they throw in a few screams here and there to mark a great connection with the fast paced songs. Many tracks can easily be played on a commercial rock radio station, as the catchy hooks, riffs, and choruses grab hold. Being a metal head, I was impressed with the metal-inspired riffs in most songs, as they can be thrown into other heavier bands.

Although the vocals are the main impact of this album, which isn’t my preference, I was satisfied hearing the lead guitar up-front as well. Frontman James Clark has an amazing voice, fit perfectly for an alternative/hard rock band such as TTF.
The album opener, “Ready for War” is a thrash-inspired fast opener that doesn’t let down its tempo until the intro to “The Wreckage.” There, it changes pace, a perfect fit to show of all their styles. Oh, don’t worry it picks the pace and tempo up again…just hit next track. The single, “Weakest Hour,” is a refreshingly heavy single, involving sparked screaming and dually catchy and heavy guitars.
Unfortunately, there isn’t that much to take in from this release,...
