MOVIE REVIEW: GROWN UPS “Grown Ups", starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, and David Spade, is a comedy about five friends and former teammates who reunite years later to honor the passing of their childhood basketball coach. Salma Hayek, Maria Bello, Maya Rudolph and kid, they spend time at the Fourth of July holiday weekend together at the lake house where they celebrated their championship years earlier. Picking up where they left off, they discover why growing older does not mean growing up. Thirty years ago a good natured coach, Blake Clark, told his winning team of grade schoolers, “when the final buzzer of life goes off, has no regrets”. When the team reunites for the Coach’s funeral, spread his ashes and recall childhood days at the lake house, they have mostly followed his creed. Just because you grow up older, that does not mean you have to grow up. The comedy superstars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider are at their hilarious and outrages best playing childhood friends who reunite one holiday weekend to relieve the good old day, directed by Dennis Dugan. It does not matter that these five guys are now respectable businessmen, husband and fathers. Once they get back together, nothing is going to stop these kids-at-heart from having the time of their adult lives in this hilarious and heartwarming film. Now grown up, the five-some lead very different lives. As a kid, Eric was the fit guy who played enforcer. As an adult, Eric (Kevin James) has gotten soft in the middle and is now the father of a 48 month old who still breastfeeds from mom, Sally (Maria Bello). Kurt (Chris Rock) is a stay-at-home dad whose pregnant wife (Maya Rudolph) takes him for granted, makes fun of his cooking, and has planted her mom in the household just to annoy him.
