As famous American abstract expressionist photographer Aaron Siskind once said “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” Photography is an art form and a way of life for some people, In 1888 George Eastman revolutionized the way photography world when he invented the Kodak Brownie portable camera which made photography accessable to everyone and it has been that way ever since. Photography is used for a number of things such as weddings, parties, data records, and most importantly for memories. There is many types of photography such as weddings, urban, school, sport, time-lapse, scenery, portrait, underwater, nature, night, black and white, pet, panoramic, landscape, cityscape, and close up photography just to name a few.
In 1826 French Inventor Joseph Nicéphore Niépce used a camera obscura (first image capturing device) to be the first person person to ever capture a permanent image, when he was able to burn an image of his country side estate onto a chemical coated pewter plate. He called his technique heliographing which also means “sun drawing” (NationalGeographic.com).
In early 1839 French painter and chemist Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre took a picture of a Paris street and with the exposure time lasting several minutes people and moving objects were not captured in the picture, Except for one man who stopped to get his shoes shined. The man was in the same place long enough to be captured in the photograph making him the first person to ever have been captured in a photographic image (NationalGeographic.com)
