Analysis and Conclusion
I have presented my data using pie charts; I have done this as they are simple and present the information clearly.
The thing I notice the most is that both wards have a huge percentage of agricultural land use, my evidence for this is that Hemmingwell has 35% of its land use as agricultural and Redwell has 45% as agricultural, these are big percentages of the overall land use and this really stood out.
The reason for this is that both wards are on rural-urban fringe. Being on the periphery means each ward will be on the boundary of rural area and area, this is why both wards both have big percentages of there land use donated to the residential areas and agricultural areas.
Another important thing I notice is that Hemmingwell has a lot more industrial land use than Redwell; also implying they may have more economically active residents. This is shown by my land use pie charts.
One similarity between the two wards is that they have little commercial land use, showing they are on the outskirts of the town and not close to the central business district. Another similarity is that they both do not have big schools implying they are not those bigger wards.
There are differences between each ward for example Redwell has a much bigger leisure/parkland land use than Hemmingwell, briefly this tells me that each ward is designed for different types of people. Redwell is designed more for families where as Hemmingwell economically active people and couple not families.
I think this has happened as Hemmingwell ward is much older than Redwell, and the Hemmingwell ward was built around the time the industrial estate was, therefore they built the residential estate to home the workers on the industrial estate.
Something I have learnt about my town from this is that each wards...
