Diane has been spot on. These words describe what a woman is capable of. Jawaharlal Nehru once said “You can tell the condition of a nation by looking at the status of its women” and that truly describes the economic condition of our nation. The empowerment of women in India has become the prerequisite for the economic progress of this country. The best one liner for women empowerment in India is “the giving of sense of confidence and self-esteem in all spheres to a woman, whereby she can enact her vision”
Women Entrepreneurs may be defined as the women who initiate, organize and operate a business enterprise. The Government of India defines women entrepreneurial venture as an enterprise owned and controlled by a woman having a minimum financial interest of 51% of the capital and giving at least 51% of employment generated in the enterprise to women. A successful woman entrepreneur has the attitude and the inner drive to change her dream; her vision into reality. In short, for an Indian woman, entrepreneurship is living a few years of her life like most women wont so that she can spend rest of her life like most people can’t!!
Women make successful entrepreneurs for the following reasons:
Women are nurturers.
Women have the ability to hang on, to stick with something, to grow and nurture their business despite opposition, heartache, and setbacks. A woman sees the potential of her creations and has the tenacity to hang on and nurture them. In business, this type of tenacity is invaluable.
Women are good multi-taskers.
