Controversy surrounds the world. One of them includes the controversy in Iraq. I personally feel that there are more cons then pros surrounding the issue. We live in a time of peace, not war. Money and lives are being lost, apparently for the greater good, but this is not the case. What kind of message do we really want to be sending across to children? Fighting is good perhaps? Or fighting has alternatives?

Why did America invade Iraq, and are still there? This is the million dollar question on everyone’s mind. America invaded Iraq on the bases that Saddam Hussein was in possession of weapons of mass destruction. That’s what the bush administration “believed”. Before they invaded Iraq they “asked” the U.N if they could look into the matter and search Iraq for WMD. The U.N accepted and searched Iraq but not to its full extent due to the amount of pressure America put on the U.N to excel the process to become more time efficient in order to find the W.M.D, due to America setting a deadline. After the U.N searched Iraq for W.M.D & found nothing the bush administration was gob smacked with the results. So America’s top agency Home Land Security was embarrassed so they had to come up with a new strategy and information. They popped an idea from the top of their heads and came up with a new argument which allowed them to invade Iraq on the “accurate information” it had from home land security. The information was that Iraq was housing terrorists and funding terrorist groups. The U.N denied America to go to war. Russia, Germany & France opted for a diplomatic solution but it didn’t happen, so they stayed neutral in the war. But being the strongest & cockiest country in the world America broke the U.N charter laws and proceeded with what they wanted. Kfoi Anan says quote “what the U.S did was illegal and this was not with in U.N charter”. The U.N. and the other countries who were not involved in the war wanted a peaceful resolution.
