Suicide
Do you believe that teen suicide is a major problem in today's society? It is the ninth leading cause of deaths in the United States.(Teen Suicide Rate) There is one suicide every forty seconds and one attempt every three seconds. Every single day a teen thinks about suicide. Your neighbor, your friend, or someone who is close to you probably has thought about suicide. Everyone has a tough time in their life and some cannot deal with it. They look towards suicide as an answer or a way out. Suicide is a major problem and we cannot stop everyone but we can help the ones in need.
There are many situations than can push someone over the edge and cause them to commit suicide. Although some may look happy and fine they are usually hiding the truth because they are afraid of what might happen. Suicide in a family can cause another suicide in the family. The death is usually too much for some to handle and may add on to their stress provoking thoughts about suicide. New "social roles"(Teen Suicide (Teenager) may cause stress for the teen. The new role may cause them to stress over appearance, rejection, drama, and everyday problems that come along in a teenager's life. A new relationship also can cause a teen to think about suicide. The teen may have problems in their relationship that adds on to the stress and cause the teen to think of ways they can impress or get the other person in the relationship to like them. Pressure from parents, coaches, teachers, friends, and everyone around a teen can cause a teen to commit suicide. Teens worry about the pressure of their parents pushing them to get better at everything and the high standards their parents may set. Their is also peer pressure causing the teen to be a person thy might not want to be but has to be in order to fit in with a certain group.
Any suicidal person will give the people around them a type of warning. The person thinking about suicide will usually talk...
