Both the English and United States Bill of Rights promise freedom of speech. Freedom of speech was one of the most important rights we could have. It allowed us to say whatever we want about whomever we want, we could say we didn’t like the President, and not be locked up or have any penalty. Freedom of speech was a founding principle and now basic right that both the English and the United States have, among others, thanks to their own Bills of Rights.
In both countries, people have the right to bear arms, or the right to carry weapons Of course we need licenses to carry these for safety reasons, but we have the right to have weapons to be able to defend ourselves. As opposed to other countries where it is illegal to own weapons, the United States and English citizens can carry weapons for defense purposes.
Solider Quartering.
Before the Bill of Rights for both countries, if they wanted soldiers could stay at any house. This was a problem and an invasion of privacy, if you didn’t want people staying at your house, and they wanted to, you had no choice. Now with these Bills, you don’t have to let people in your house if you don’t want to, in peace or war.

Fair Punishments.
Fair punishments are very important and it was put in both Bills of Rights. They both state that there can be no cruel and unusual punishments, and torture cannot happen. They both say no excessive bails or fines shall be imposed, or there must be fair bail. This helped stop torture and give people a fair chance.
Both Bills have their differences, but these are some of the similarities listed between the United States and English Bills of Rights.
