The authors of World Religious Today write that “the first Christians owed a debt to the Hebraic tradition of Ancient Israel.”
God creates events in History. Also, History is called early story in Judaism. God Interacts with Jewish people in biblical Judaism.
The myth of history begins with Judaism. The God in Judaism gave promises to Abraham that He will sent Moses to deliver his people from slavery to the Egyptians and bring them into the “the land of Canaan”. Therefore, God made agreement with people of Israel called Covenant. This agreement is between God and Moses, people of Israel that they are God’s chosen people. God will guide and protect them, but in return they must follow 10 commitments (rules).
First of all, in Christianity Jesus was born as a Jew, participated in all traditions, and died as a Jew. Also, Jesus was born to Mary, raised by Mary and Joseph. However, it is a traditional belief that Joseph derived from King David’s line. King David belongs to Judaism, who had set up the Kingdom in Judaism. Therefore, it seems that Christianity is connected to Judaism. Gentile followers who are known as a non-Jews believed that Jewish people did not understand his (Jesus) message, so the gentile followers adopted a new way of understanding Judaism that they thought is “practicing a new and improved faith – Christianity”. (Pg. 146) Furthermore, in first-century Jewish arguments were combined into the sacred writings of Christianity which is in the New Testament.
In addition, there are some rituals in Christianity. There are two major festivals in Christianity: Easter and Christmas. However, Easter is more important holiday than Christmas. In Christianity, nobody has yet known that on which date Jesus was born. The date December 25 was given with respect to the sun god for a pagan festival.
