What is Human Services

What is the question being asked “What is human services?” there are many things that need to be asked like what is the goals that are set for the people in the industry, what kid of history does this industry have, what are the common intervention strategies, and what kind of ethical considerations are there. These are some very important points and I will go over them one by one so that we can get a better understanding of what exactly human services is and what is stands for.
First I will start with what human service is:
“The field of Human Services is broadly defined, uniquely approaching the objective of meeting human needs through an interdisciplinary knowledge base, focusing on prevention as well as remediation of problems, and maintaining a commitment to improving the overall quality of life of service populations. The Human Services profession is one which promotes improved service delivery systems by addressing not only the quality of direct services, but also by seeking to improve accessibility, accountability, and coordination among professionals and agencies in service delivery. (National Organization for Human Services, 2009)”
What this means is that with an organization of people they can try and help for a better life for others. Many people do not have the resources available to them so they need someone to turn to so that they can get the things they need to make their lives better. Whether is be mental help or someone to get things for them that they could not.
Depending on what type of position that you are in in the human service they all have about the same goal and this is to make peoples' lives better. Most human service industries are working with some of the most vulnerable people in population. They deal with the homeless, children, addicts, and abuse victims.
