The Process in water purification is the transformation of water from a non-drinkable state to a drinkable state. There are a few methods you can disinfection water, such as, boiling water or using a chemical treatment. These methods are used when water is poisonous or is a potentially hazardous to the consumer’s health.

Before water is purified it contains many microorganisms like giradia limblia and cryptosporidium, which are commonly found in rivers and lakes. If water isn’t treated properly, giadia will have a negative effect towards the body. Giardia will cause diarrhea, fatigue, and cramps after ingestion. Cryptosporidium also has a negative effect too. Cryptosporidium will cause diarrhea, nausea and stomach cramps.

Cholera is a water-borne bacterial disease, it’s an intestinal infection caused by the bacterium vibrio cholera. Cholera is spread by eating or dinking contaminated water. This transpires mostly when raw shell fish is eating from polluted coastal waters is eaten. It’s very rare to catch, it’s a five percent chance that someone will. If Cholera is ingested, as in drinking, this will cause an illness; usually diarrhea and abdominal cramps.

Boiling water is very effective method of cleaning water. Boiling is the surest method to having safe clean water, but also kills disease-causing microorganism. If you don’t have clean water, boil water one to three hours (depending how much water you have) then let the water settle for an hour. To improve the flat taste of boiled water, pour back and forth between two containers and allow it to stand for a few hours, or add a
pinch of salt.

The other method of purification is a chemical treatment. For a chemical disinfection to be effective, the water must be filtered and has settled first.
