Leonardo Da Vinci

The Renaissance, meaning rebirth when derived from the French language, adverts to three centuries of art, literature, and philosophy. The Renaissance, lasting from 14th century to the 17th century, originated in Italy in the late Middle Ages and later dilated into the remaining portions of Europe. The Renaissance was seen as the golden age of art, literature, and philosophy as it bred some of the most eminent artists and writers that the world has seen. One paramount figure, who left his signature on art, was Leonardo Da Vinci. Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the "Renaissance man", a man whose seemingly infinite curiosity was equaled only by his powers of invention. Leonardo Da Vinci is often considered as one of the greatest artists and perhaps the pinnacle of art from the Renaissance. Leonardo Da Vinci was also known as a man of vast multi-talents, he was known to be a painter, sculptor, mathematician, scientist, inventor, and a plethora of other titles.
Leonardo Da Vinci was born in to Antonio Da Vinci and Monna Lucia in the year 1452. Leonardo was one of three sons. His two brothers are recorded to be named Ser Piero and Francesco. Leonardo Da Vinci is said to be the illegitimate son of Antonio Da Vinci. It is recorded that Antonio took custody of Leonardo Da Vinci shortly following his birth. Leonardo is characterized by his sense of curiosity and for his great talent as an inventor and artist. His curiosity can be seen from as early as his young childhood. He recorded in his journal an incident which occurred while he was exploring in the mountains. He discovered a cave and recorded his emotions at being, on one hand, terrified that some great monster might lurk there and on the other, driven by curiosity to find out what was inside.
