As one of my favorate movies which is adapted from the book with the same name writen by Lauren Weisberger, the Devil Wears Prada appeals to me not only for its distinguished cast--the always fantastic Meryl Streep,the princess Anne Hathaway--all my love, for the fascination of fashion--too strong a tempertation for any girl to resist, but also this movie calls my attention to the life satisfaction and career choice.
The story tells the professional adventure of Andrea(Anne Hathaway), whose greatest dream is to become a journalist,while she is hired to the job as the second assistant of Miranda( Meryl Streep),the devil editor of the ultimate fashion magazine of Runway, while this millions-of-girls-kill-for job just makes a living hell for her. Firstly sneering at those "crackers" in the office, Andrea becomes one of them finally,dressing in Prada, with LV on her arm, living under spotlight. She walks far away from her parents, her boyfriend and her friends, as well as her original dream as a journalist in New Yorker.
What is the most important factor to life satisfaction? Before watching this movie, I thought i can never resist the temptation of those designed dress, and i was so eager to the life as a celebrity under the spotlight, but now i see more clearly what I really need. When your life is filled with Prada , LV,Channel, as well as those beautiful but not sincere faces, you will find how stupid you are to estrange from families and friends, who really care about you. I prefer the end of the novel to that of the movie, because in the novel, what pulls Andrea back to her real life is the accident of Lucy ,her best friend.
In addition, the story plays a role as a warning for me to choose a career most suitable for me. Working for Miranda in Runway may bring incredible material wealth and even make a perfect resume for Andrea, but is it worthy? In Runway Andrea is...
