Yes, Osama Bin Laden and his accomplices made horrible choices that day, and many lost families and friends. Richard Picciotto shared his experience with the world to show what really happened inside that building on September 11th, 2001. He wanted to share his story so the reader knows the events of that dreadful day. In the long run Richard Picciotto will become a man who is proud to say he served the country during the 9/11 attack against the
She then brought the family to another area, sat them with the lunch menus and no children’s menus. Plus, the table was dirty. A waiter walked by after another 10 to 12 minutes of waiting and asked if he could take their order, even though the table was not in his area. The family ordered their meals and a glass of wine. Twenty minutes later, the meals arrived, which wasn’t too bad in timing, but they came out cold.
At the Seattle-Tacoma Airport, in Tacoma, Washington, he released thirty-six passengers and two crew members once his demands were met (Pasternak). After taking off again Cooper ordered the plane to fly at a low altitude towards Mexico. At 8:13pm pressure gauges recorded his jump over the Lewis River from 10,000ft into a thunderstorm with over a hundred mile per hour winds and negative temperatures wearing only a thin suit, wrap-around sunglasses, and a rain coat (Brad Meltzer's Decoded). Many people believe that this was a suicidal jump and that Cooper died that night (Mysterious Disappearances in U.S. History). A reporting error in this high interest case mixed up his name forever immortalizing him as D.B.
Upon the bombing of the two cities, the Japanese citizens that lived near the explosion had been through a devastating and horrifying experience. These experiences are told by John Hersey in his book “Hiroshima”, where he interviews survivors from the bombing. One of the survivors he interviewed was named Miss Tashinki Sasaki; she worked as a clerk in the personnel department of the East Asia Tin Works during the crisis. When the blinding flash from the bomb had taken place, she was about to talk to the female worker on her right but had become paralyzed with fear from the light. Within seconds the ceiling collapsed along with a bookshelf that fell on Miss Sasaki, leaving her unconscious for three hours.

Remembering September 11, 2001 By Mara Miller On September 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked four U.S. airliners: two destroyed the Twin Towers in New York City, one damaged the Pentagon, and one crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. This book traces the events of that day, gives the historical background, and outlines the steps taken in response so that readers will gain understanding of the horrific attacks and their consequences. A generation of children has been born since the World Trade Center Towers and the Pentagon were destroyed, and Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania. Nearly a decade has passed since “9/11,” but America is still reacting to the events of that day. In the immediate aftermath, a spate of juvenile books were immediately
September 11th 2001, two hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City and a third crashed into the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Thousands of people were killed in these crashes and since then we have continued to our fight against terror, every year remembering those men, women, and children who lost their lives in those fatal crashes that fateful September day. In their respective speeches, President Bush and Prime Minister Blair both addressed the tragedy. In his speech to Congress, President Bush uses appeal to pathos, making it feel like he is truly with us. “Great harm has been done to us.” This simple statement used by Bush shows all of the United States that not only is the President here to lead us, but he is also human. He continues to speak in a mournful tone throughout the speech.
Oil & Water: The Mosque at Ground Zero Leslie Pratt Westwood College College Writing 2 Persuasive Writing Paper Date: March 08, 2012 Instructor: Dr. Ras Tsidi Acolatse Oil & Water: The Mosque at Ground Zero Topic and Purpose This research paper discusses the dangers of placing a Muslim community center within the vicinity of the World Trade Center crash site. On September 11th, 2001, terrorists crashed 2 planes into the World Trade center buildings (aka Twin Towers) killing nearly 3,000 people devastating the lives of Americans everywhere. Now eleven years later, a group well known and respected Muslims led by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf are leading and initiative to build a Muslim Community Center designated to promote peace, unification and America’s religious tolerance. The only problem is that this structure is being built within the vicinity of the World Trade Center crash site. Many New York City residents and fellow Americans feel that this is a direct “Slap in the face”, and a mockery of the countless lives lost on that tragic day.
September 11th 2001 Through My Eyes On September 11th, 2001 New York City witnessed one of the worst terrorist attacks in history, if not the worst. Ten Al Qaeda members hijacked two airplanes in mid-air and each was flown into one of the World Trade Center buildings eventually causing the 110-story buildings to crumble down killing 2606 people. Ten years later on September 11th, 2011 the 9/11 memorial was opened to the public. I had the opportunity to visit this memorial with my class and the experience was mind-boggling. After all that happened on 9/11 and all the crazy people out in the world I was really surprised about the fact that there was a lot of security to get in to the memorial but not nearly as much as I would have
My experience with episodic memory would have to be remembering 9/11. On September 11, 2001 people woke up and started their daily routine- some went to work, others to school, it appeared to be just another ordinary day. Little did we know this day would be one to go down in history, one that would never again pass without being remembered or reflected on, and one that abruptly opened the world’s eyes to the issue of terrorism. On this unforgettable morning, planes soared through the sky, flying directly into the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon. Havoc was wreaked throughout the cities, and as the towers came crumbling down thousands were killed and even more were injured.
