Millions of people play sport every day, and as usual, some suffer injuries, and even brain damage. Most players and spectators accept this risk. However, dangerous sports such as boxing, is permitted by our government even thou people have died practicing in this types of sports. The media such as television plays and important role in advertising such sports, people love to see violence on television. If we look around us, we will notice that we are living in a world of violence. The government needs to take care of this matter, and make new regulations for these types of sports.
Any activity that involves blows to the body, especially the head, is a risk. The government has made some attempts to put into place a number of regulations, to minimize the dangers. Cousin mention on is essay “Who killed Benny Paret”, that when this incident happen, Governor Rockefeller, try to put a committee to investigate what really happen. “Governor Rockefeller was shocked by what happened and appointed a committee to assess the responsibility.” But noting really change, after the investigation, and we still have people and families suffering the consequences of boxing. Boxing can and does have some serious effects on the health of people mostly men, who are involved in the sport.
Boxing is rank as a dangerous sport. Even thou the numbers of boxers who have died as a result of the sport are not accurately known. Norman Cousin, mentions on his essay “Who killed Benny Paret”, that Paret was killed in the boxing ring, because a blow to the head. Being hit on the head can cause fractures to the bone of the head, face, and tissue and most of all damage to the brain. Not only Paret as been killed in the boxing ring, but others boxers as well, also many of them are very sick, and disable because they have practice these types of sports.
