Single Mothers and their struggles Amber Blango Park University Writing for Human Sexuality, Fall 1 Professor Sara Brammer PS 309 September 15, 2010 Abstract The purpose of this paper is to inform our culture of a topic that is over looked by many people in society every day. This topic is much known but ignored do to the fact that part of our society looks at single mothers as hard working individual parents, while the other part looks at single mothers as not being able to keep a stable family relationship. This essay will give a full review of the topic on single mothers. It will also cover prior research and many struggles that come with being a single mother. Included in the paper will be information from two different single mothers and from a psychological point of view. Single Mothers and their struggles In today’s society we see numerous single mothers but majority of the time we as a culture fail to see the trials they have to Indore. Money is among one of the tremendous issues when being a single mother. With the government’s help low in-come mother’s can get the help that they need. Such as getting on WIC, which is Supplement Nutrition Program for woman, infants and children. This program provides milk, bread, cheese and fruits while the mother is pregnant. When the child is born they also provide formula for the baby. “The United States government is dedicated to helping children, low-income families and individuals with two programs aimed at reducing hunger and ensuring the nutrition of people across the country”. (Georgia.gov, 2010, par #1) Money Being a single mother one of their biggest headaches is with money and that can play huge issue of what brings so much stress and depression on to her. Trying to hold a job and watch the children at the same time is nearly impossible now try to add economy that is trying to get stable
